First, the facts:
I’ve been a practicing naturopathic doctor for over 20 years. My practice has focused on helping the chronically ill return to full health. I’ve taught at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, and I’ve been the owner and head doctor of a naturopathic clinic. Along with being a doctor, I’m a mom, a business owner, and I’ve been happily married for 25 years. I know what it’s like to be busy all the time!
I’ve also struggled with chronic fatigue syndrome – it’s taken me down twice, 17 years apart. Though it was miserable at the time, now I see it as a blessing, both for the insights those experiences have given me and for my transition to a completely healthy life.
The road map to full vitality – a life you can live joyfully – is what I want to share with you. If you’ve been knocked flat by chronic fatigue, or you’re still functioning but “faking it” with the help of coffee, sugar, and other short-term fixes, I’d to share my story with you about how I came to teach the Core Vitality program. You can read it here.
Now let’s move on to my mission, which is how to help you.
Many people find that their care providers don’t have either the knowledge or the time to deal with the complexities of chronic disease. Few understand the challenges of living with these conditions and how to guide people to a place of full vitality. It becomes easy for you, the patient, to lose sight of the end goal of optimal health, your core vitality.
You may have an auto-immune condition, hormone imbalance, digestive issues, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, brain issues like poor attention, brain fog, decreasing memory, fatigue, or even all of these (I have been there!).
We will work together to identify and resolve the root causes of your disease. Those causes are often a mix of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual issues. We’ll work on all these levels to help bring about the most profound and lasting healing.
The best part of my day is when I get to witness a patient transforms before my very eyes: when the anxiety or pain lifts after years, or when the look in someone’s eyes changes from despair to hope as we map their personal path to health and vitality.
As a naturopath physician, I empower patients to discover and develop their innate ability to guide their own healing process. In 20 years of working with patients, I’ve come to understand that healing is a multi-layered journey. A disease is rarely caused by one thing, nor does it take just one thing to fix it.
The better question I work to answer with each patient is – what is the first thing?
What will create the biggest shift in the health of the person standing in front of me? What is the first thing that will kick-start that person’s inner urge to heal?
I embrace the best of modern science in testing for these conditions; I am also deeply rooted in the wisdom of the ages. I constantly remind myself and others that love is where we come from, and where we go. Having compassion for ourselves, for our healing process, and for others is key to finding truly lasting health and vitality.
I have been honored to witness profound changes in thousands of people. Are you next? I would love to help you if you feel drawn to my work. Keep reading.
I’ve worked one-on-one with patients to treat health issues across a broad spectrum, but more and more, I’ve concentrated on chronic, often amorphous health concerns like anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue, and autoimmune syndromes, and have helped hundreds of clients grapple with these complicated conditions. The health breakthroughs I’ve seen patients make are nothing short of amazing.
As a passionate advocate for my patients, I focus on creating unique and comprehensive practices to help them heal. I draw on a deep toolbox built up from my years of studying and practicing medicine, and I work with each patient individually to assess their needs. What else is there to tell? I’m available for one-on-one consultations in-person or online. I can consult with your professional health care team. I also take on a limited number of teaching and lecturing engagements each year.
